Beginners Session in September was about buttonholes bands and the various types of buttonholes.
We discussed the various methods of creating a buttonhole band, and saw how you would pick up the stitches along the front of a toddlers' v-neck cardigan and how to position the buttonholes.
There then following a demo of how make the buttonhole band and at the same time create vertical buttonholes, the band was then closed using the latch tool method.
Come and enjoy our Borders and Edges workshop with Liz. You can choose to come Saturday or Sunday or come on both days, it is up to you. As always, it will be an enjoyable weekend, we will learn lots whilst having a great time!!!
Review of the meeting:-
Well, our time was certainly well spent!
For Borders! we now look at these differently! out goes your boring double edge and in comes a border with style and design, one to blend in with the garment and which suits the yarn!
We were delighted to have Clare of Clare McKinney Makeup & Beauty, an award winning makeup artist who shared her expertise with our members in the use of Colour. She has recently received the Ulster Tatler Beauty Consultant of the Year 2012, an award she also won in 2011!
Clare showed us the process she would use to determine what colours would suit an individual. She explain how colours are divided into various types and then, using one of our members, put this theory into practice.
